CDI April English Busan hiring for Summer Term

CDI Teachers

CDI Teachers

One of the most successful and best places to work for in Korea has openings coming up in May of 2009!

CDI April English Academies in the Busan area are looking for passionate educators to start work as English instructors for one of it’s 15 branches to start training in mid May and starting a one (or more) year(s) contract in the last week of the same month.  CDI (aka Chungdahm Institute or Chungdahm Learning) was started in 1998 to advance the English language education industry to a higher level where it provided competitive salaries to native English instructors, built a legitimate and strong curriculum, formalized professional training and all the other things required to create an Education company which would last well into the 21st century.  More importantly, it helped it’s customers (the cute Korean kids) get into special Foreign/International schools that teach subjects in English in droves.

CDI April English Busan went a step further and created a support system along with managing branches with a “humanistic touch” to help the Western instructors feel more at home than they normally felt when working for other English academies.  The network of close to 150 English instructors in the Busan and Changwon areas feel more like a “family” and you can see the regular interaction daily on social networks like Facebook, for example.  As one of the most satisfied groups of foreigners in the Busan area, you see many of the CDI April English teachers almost at all Busan activities.  Events like the teachers supporting the orphanages in the area during Christmas to Halloween parties during October with our April English branches show how great of a workplace CDI April English in Busan is.

Requirements:
*Passion to teach children from Kindergarten through 5th grade and from 5th grade to Middle School aged students
*Bachelors degree from an accredited 3 or 4 year University
*Citizenship from one of the following countries: U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand

To apply or inquire about the job opportunities, please send an email with your resume and recent photo to: recruitingcdi@gmail.com

Finalists of the 2008 CDI South Scavenger Hunt

On November 31st, Jareb Steines organised a Scavenger Hunt for the teachers at all of our branches. We met up at Busan tower in Nampodong at 11am and completed various tasks, like ‘taking a photo of a team member giving W1,000 to a child under the age of 4′ and ‘taking a team photo in front of a Family Mart (convenience store) wearing face masks’. A fun time was had by all attendees.

Here are the participants who were lucky enough to make it to the final destination in the basement floor of the Lotte Department Store in Seomyeon. Congratulations to Team Dongnae for completing more than 30 tasks and winning the event. Also, thanks go out to Jareb Steines for all of his organisation efforts.

A happy Halloween for our April English branches!

For our recent Halloween, we held special events at all of our April English branches for the younger students. Staff and teachers spent long hours preparing their schools with special decorations and costumes. On the day, special Halloween-themed lessons and games were enjoyed by the students with candy prizes. Photos from our various branches are below!

This was a very successful event for our schools and teachers.

Come and join us next time!
