The Gwangan - Centum City branch is in one of the most popular areas of the city, close to the beach and the famous Gwangan Bridge. There is a vibrant nightlife especially in the summer months and there are plenty of al fresco style bars and beach parties in the warmer weather. Gwangan is also right next door to Haeundae, another famous coastal location with white sands and outdoor markets.

Welcome to Gwangan-Centum CDI!
I’ve had the pleasure of working at the Gwangan Branch since November of 2005, when CDI first opened in Busan. During my time here, I’ve seen our organization grow from 2 schools and about 700 students, to 15 schools and about 5000 students. Being part of this growth and helping our schools become some of the most prominent in the whole city has has been a unique and rewarding experience.
The two main reasons I’ve stayed with CDI Busan for such a long time are the people and the curriculum. Our organization has been built and maintained by a solid HR department and group of managers. They have been committed to the growth of the schools, but first and foremost to recruiting and keeping great teachers. As a result, I’ve been lucky enough to work with teachers in Gwangan who are great people, as well as dedicated to education in the classroom.
The curriculum in CDI is very well developed and organized…and it works. I’ve seen students come in at the lowest level, with minimum speaking ability, and watch them develop to a level where they are studying college level material. I have found that to be the greatest satisfication of working at CDI, seeing my kids truly benefit and improve from what we deliver in the classroom.
I consider myself extremely lucky finding my job at CDI in Gwangan. I’ve had so many positive experiences in the classroom, traveling with teachers around the country and just soaking up all Korea has to offer, it is hard to imagine working anywhere else.

Greetings from CDI Gwangan – Centum
I’m a head instructor at the Gwangan Centum branch and I’ve been working here for over 3 years. I have had a lot of experience working at different academies in different cities all over Korea, but working for CDI in Busan has been the most rewarding experience yet. It is a pleasure to work for a company that is well established and able to offer a solid curriculum, a variety of different levels to teach, and all the support that instructors need. At CDI, we have the privilege of teaching some of the brightest young minds in the country and watching their abilities and confidence improve is extremely gratifying.
Working at CDI Gwangan isn’t just about what we do in the classroom. Our time here is enriched by the great people that we get to work with. CDI attracts not only people who want to do something worthwhile in their jobs, but who also want to get the most out of their time living in a different country. Our teachers often plan weekend road trips together to explore this beautiful country and enjoy everything it has to offer. There are lots of things to see and do and you’ll have no shortage of people to share them with here.
If you love the beach, Gwangan is a fantastic location for you. Gwangali beach is a 10 minute walk up the street, and Haeundae Beach, Korea’s most famous, is a 15 minute subway ride away. In our area we having sailing, hiking trails, parks, walking trails along the river, gyms, swimming pools, and even a couple of amusement parks. There is plenty of nightlife along the beach, as well as around Kyungsung University just a couple of stops away. The area boasts good shopping and great restaurants, as well as museums and art galleries. It is also just a short subway or bus ride to the other popular areas of the city.
We hope you come and join us at Gwangan-Centum!
