The Busanjin branch in central Busan is within walking distance of hiking trails, badminton courts, department stores and internet cafes. It was one of the first branches to open in Busan and has been steadily growing in size. It is very close to the Seomyeon area which is one of the busiest nightlife and shopping districts in the city.

Anyeong haseyo!!! And welcome to CDIs Busanjin Branch.

My name is Anthony Nguyen and I have been teaching for Busanjin since September 2008. I recently transferred from CDI Jeonju with hopes to explore more of Korea. Like many of you, I had a million questions.

In regards to enrolment, we are a medium capacity institute in Busan. We are located 15 minutes from Seomyeon, the financial district, which is where most of our instructors live. We have a very diverse group of instructors from Australia, US, Canada and Europe. As a result, we love making new friends and learning about everyone’s different backgrounds.

In regards to support, our Korean co-workers are amazing. They realize that moving to a foreign country can be difficult, so they assist us with everything (housing, bills, bank accounts, cellular phones, charitable organizations etc). Whatever you need, theyre here for you. Whats most impressive about our campus is the atmosphere. From my personal experience, it is very difficult for any Korean school to retain teachers after their contracts have ended. However, most of the instructors at Busanjin have re-signed their contracts and agreed to stay for more than two years. So if youre hardworking and motivated, Busanjin just might be the place for you.

I joined CDI and started working at the Busanjin branch in Dec. 2006. Working at CDI has been a great experience. It is a very well organized and structured company meaning that the teacher never has to worry about whether or not they will be paid on time. The company in Busan has 15 branches and campuses with over 130 foreign teachers, meaning that there is always someone there for you either socially or professionally.

Busanjin in particular has a very supportive Korean staff. From a teachers standpoint, they make our jobs much easier by counseling the students and their parents in Korean. As an expat, they are very supportive in making your transition to Korea an easy one, assisting in a lot of start-up activities such as acquiring housing, phone, and internet connections. Some are even eager to show you around the city.

In my opinion, Busanjin is the best branch. We are centrally located, two subway stops from downtown, Seomyeon (서면) with most of us living in the downtown area. From Seomyeon, it’s a 3min cab ride to the branch and no longer than 20min to anywhere else in the city. Since Seomyeon is the heart of the city there are a number of things you would expect from a big city including: shopping, restaurants, gyms, spas, bars, clubs, casino… the list goes on.

Being a smaller branch, we are a laid back, close-knit group, often hanging out together after work. Everyone seems to be supportive and I cant imagine what life would have been like anywhere else.
